If you have a box full of your old smartphones from the past, you may not have considered using these phones as supplies to assist you during a bug out scenario. If you think about it, smartphones are pocket-sized supercomputers, which means they are essential to your survival. You can use them for a variety of SHTF situations!
1. Binoculars
Admittedly a lot of smart phones may not have good zoom in quality. However, if you have a good phone like an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy then you are fortunate. If you can’t afford to buy binoculars for your prepper gear then the camera zoom in functionality can be helpful.
2. File Storage
Now I would recommend putting together a binder of important documents that you can grab when you bug out. In addition to that you can also save digital copies of important documents onto your old smartphone. A lot of new smartphones today hold anywhere from 16gb to 32gb. This digital back up can be great in case you lose the binder.
3. eBooks
There are a lot of great books about survival on Amazon that can help.
For three additional ways to use your old smartphones to help you survive, visit the next page. #6 is a really smart idea while bugging out — I hadn't thought of this before!
Very good info thanks!
Shtf I’m smashing all cell phones.
OP, great advice, we teach this during our SHTF Weekend course.
Stupid as it gets.
Just plug it into the local tree….
Same watch I have!
Solar charger is a must. Plus keeping the phone in some type of Faraday cage in case of MCME or EMP.
Here’s an idea, ditch the smartphone altogether! A rather useless commodity! I see no need to own one in my lifetime! Converse face to face, aka get a life! Personal interaction beats social media hands down!
So… You believe smartphones are all / only about texting and facebooking with people?
So u bug out? How u sposta charge it if u are off the grid? Oh, yes, a currant (current) bush! LMAO!
So basically what people already use there phones for
Your fucking site sucks$#%&!@*fucking pop ups unfollowing your bullshit
