Rattlesnakes are predators that live in a wide array of habitats, hunting small animals such as birds and rodents.
If you do not already know it, rattlesnakes are also venomous. There are thirty-six (36) known species of rattlesnakes, all native to the Americas, ranging from southern Alberta and southern British Columbia in Canada to Central Argentina.
You will know if they feel endangered by the noisy shaking off their tails that illicit a distinct rattle.
We’ve all heard it on TV and know that sound means danger! However, rattlesnakes rarely bite unless provoked or threatened; if treated promptly the bites are seldom fatal.
Over on the next page read about one man’s encounter with a rattlesnake that, sadly, left a beloved pet bitten. This rattler is huge!
That headshot is the worst photoshop I have seen in a long time.
I have seen one strech across a 2 lane rd. They get bigger than 3-5 ft!
Wife had a relative killed by a Rattler. I don’t kill non poisonous, but poisonous they are toast.
Jake Vague “just side step and be careful” lol
So He’s got a decent Feed there…
I think what I saw was probably a black snake . It stretched fully across a black top road and then some. Hard to believe I know, not certain I’d believe it if I hadn’t seen it for myself!
LoL. He’s got it on a stick , holding it WAY out towards the camera. I looks huge alright…looks
Bullshit
Aint no Bullshit here kuz”” C’mon down ta South Alabama n” see ”’
Especially when you put them on a stick and hold them away from you towards the camera. Makes them look huge.
That’s good eatin there
I wonder if the venom would be good enough to use on an arrow? Probably not to hunt as it would infect the food and might not be good for the liver but could be used to kill predators maybe or even other people in a war time? Not sure on the potency but would it kill still if an arrow head is dipped in it?
Not enough fire to kill it with. We need more fire!
venomous
Seen one close to that size down here in Mexico
Josh N Barb Christian
Fangs as big as a screwdriver…..
Yea …no thanks
Dylan Windecker I seen Blythe Wubbena putting this in your yard today!
I ran over one that spanned a two lane road! My whole family was with me in the truck! This was here, in Lubbock , Texas, farm to market road 2378, I am a native Texan, and this was amazing even for me to see!
Yes the venom is just as potent, yes it will work on small game in small amounts, iv never heard about the state of the animal and how long it takes the venom to destroy the carcass, but technically venom will go right through your digestive system, unless you have internal injuries like stomach ulcers or something similar, always remember venom kills through your blood, poison through your stomach
My boss owns like 6 different species of rattlers, this would make him sick, next he would rant about the rat population losing a predator, and to prepare to be over run by rodents lol
Thats a big one,I have only seen one that big one other time at a rattlesnake hunt 10 years ago
Gerald Koelling how far would’ve you jumped while retrieving your gopher?
Dang that joint been eatn good
Not even close . I’m a land surveyor in Florida
I’ve seen plenty over 6 ft, I’ve actually caught a few
Haha if he put that in my yard his poor dog probably won’t be going with him on his hunting trip
That’s a big rattle snake.
Of course they killed it what a shame…
Yessir” 8ft 4in We ate him “” rhis was taken 3yrs ago
Florida black snakes are said to get 7-8′ ft long. I have seen them when I lived there. I grew up in Az & have relocated back to Az. I seen a Diamondback stretch across a 2 lane rd. when I was about 15 yrs old. Have also seen some that were dead that were 8ft long. The average Diamondback may only be 3-5 ft., but there is always a few that have lived an unmolested life in the wild that get much bigger. I DO NOT believe what the experts claim when they say they only get up to 5ft.
….some salt and pepper….nice on a grill..
The Eastern Diamondback is a much larger species than the Western. It is not uncommon to.find snakes this size and larger. 3-5 ft ones are known by the locals.as babies or youngsters.
Good eating right there
