You're in a survival situation. Apart from the fact that you're in the situation to begin with, you're doing pretty well.
You've got your shelter built, a cozy bed separating you from the ground, a warm fire crackling, some fish smoking over the fire, and you've got a good supply of water available. It's pretty much the perfect textbook successful survival scenario.
The last thing you want when you're doing this well is to have your success cut short by a bear or some wolves. Lacking in a gun, you'll need a way to protect yourself from predators that could be drawn to the scent of your food or even to your personal scent if the predator is hungry enough.
When you find yourself in this scenario, you'll want to be able to close the gap between you and the predator and make yourself as dangerous as they are.
Staying safe or getting yourself a meal means you'll need a spear. Learn how to make some carved spears on the next page.
